With Virginia's Nov. 2 general election less than a week away, in-person early voting will be available through the end of the week at two Alexandria sites. City of Alexandria voters can vote at the Office of Voter Registration & Elections (132 N. Royal St., Suite 100) from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays with extended hours until 8 p.m. from Oct. 25 to Oct. 28. The last day of in-person early voting is Saturday, Oct. 30 are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. According to patch.com, "Those who are voting by mail must return the mail-in ballot by 5 p.m. on Nov. 2, Election Day, in person or have it postmarked by Nov. 2 and received by noon on Nov. 5. As an alternative to mail, ballots can be dropped off at Beatley Library during voting hours, any polling place during voting hours on Nov. 2, or 24/7 at a secure drop box outside the Office of Voter Registration & Elections. The last day to request an absentee ballot by mail was Oct. 22." As per patch.com, "Those voting in person on Election Day can visit their polling place on Tuesday, Nov. 2 from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Voters in line by 7 p.m. will be able to vote. Check your polling place on the Virginia Department of Elections online portal or see precinct maps from the precinct maps are from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. City of Alexandria voters will be deciding local races for Alexandria mayor, City Council, sheriff, Alexandria School Board and Commonwealth's Attorney. State races include Virginia governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, and Virginia House of Delegates."
